Over 65.3 million people have been forcibly removed from their homes, among them 21.3 million refugees, half of whom are children. These children all too often do not have access to education. An uneducated child is a vulnerable child, adrift and at risk of exploitation. UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is working to prevent a lost generation by giving refugee children the education they need to build a better future. However, they need all the help they can get.
The United Nations Association of the United States (UNA-USA) is leading a campaign to connect American communities to this crisis, allowing them to both mobilize their generosity and amplify their advocacy. Greater Lansing United Nations Association (GL-UNA) has committed to raising $30,000 to build a classroom at a refugee-serving school which will serve the needs of at least 40 children for 10 years.
Your generous donation will help GL-UNA raise the money to build this classroom.
